Mahmudul Hasan Crowned Glocal Teen Hero Bangladesh 2025 for SDG Activism

DHAKA, BANGLADESH – December 8, 2025:  The 3rd Edition of Glocal Teen Hero Bangladesh 2025 successfully concluded at Daffodil International University, celebrating the power, passion, and potential of Bangladesh’s incredible young changemakers. The event culminated in the announcement of the winner, who embodies the spirit of innovation and social impact.

We were honored to have Ms. Lalita Silwal, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Nepal to Bangladesh, grace the event with her presence and support, highlighting the diplomatic recognition of youth leadership across borders.

This year’s edition brought together a cohort of inspiring teen finalists, young innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs who showcased powerful ideas in sustainability, technology, social impact, entrepreneurship, and community development. Their stories reflected the true essence of youth leadership and the bright future they are shaping for Bangladesh.

The  Franchise Partner for the event was Daffodil International University; the event was powered by the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Bangladesh and the Daffodil Entrepreneurs’ Club. Key partners included the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Bangladesh Venture Capital, and Knowledge Vale. At just 18 years old, this passionate SDGs Activist is turning the tide on the plastic crisis with his revolutionary initiative, Swaccha. Swaccha offers a biodegradable, plantable toothbrush, effectively transforming a simple daily necessity into a powerful climate solution by promoting a circular economy mindset.

Mahmudul’s initiative has achieved significant, rapid impact:

• 70,000+ units sold.

• Over 50 tons of plastic waste were reduced in just four months.

• Inspiring thousands to adopt more sustainable consumption habits.

Mahmudul Hasan, from Shariatpur, truly embodies the spirit of a “Fantastic Teen” and stands as a beacon for environmental action in Bangladesh.

Glocal Teen Hero is an initiative of Glocal Pvt. Ltd., dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of teenagers who are driving positive change and showcasing excellence in their respective fields. The overall purpose of this program is to motivate and encourage teenagers to step out of their comfort zone, be creative, and nurture entrepreneurial and innovative thinking.
