KATHMANDU, 10 June 2025 – The 5th edition of the Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM 2025) concluded successfully in Kathmandu, drawing over 700 delegates from 30 countries, including more than 100 international participants and key national tourism stakeholders. The event was held from 3 to 5 June at The Soaltee Kathmandu.

Centered on the theme “Mountains, Milestones, and Momentum,” HTM 2025 not only celebrated the 50th anniversary of the PATA Nepal Chapter but also marked a historic moment in global tourism collaboration, promoting Nepal’s vision for sustainable growth and regional tourism leadership.

Organized by the PATA Nepal Chapter in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines, and several public-private partners, the event featured a dynamic mix of business exchanges, panel discussions, networking opportunities, cultural showcases, and immersive destination tours.

Delivering the keynote address, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey highlighted Nepal’s iconic role as the Gateway to the Himalayas. The Minister also emphasized the government’s dedication to fostering resilient, inclusive, and sustainable tourism through global cooperation and public-private partnerships.

PATA Nepal Chapter Chairman Khem Lakai expressed confidence in Nepal’s potential as a year-round destination, advocating for strengthened cross-border tourism ties. Nepal Tourism Board CEO Deepak Raj Joshi also shared the country’s long-term vision, focusing on new travel circuits and one-of-a-kind experiences to attract international travellers.

Pre-Mart FAM Trips and Destination Experiences

Ahead of the main event, international delegates embarked on familiarization (FAM) trips to various destinations, including Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara, Panauti, and Dhulikhel, experiencing Nepal’s cultural diversity and natural beauty first-hand.

HTM Conference and B2B Exchange

The HTM Conference brought together global and regional experts for dialogues on spiritual, adventure, and luxury tourism, along with discussions on sustainability, emerging market trends, and future opportunities.

The B2B mart sessions facilitated over 2,100 pre-scheduled business meetings between 60 international buyers from 21 countries and 70 sellers representing six destinations, paving the way for impactful new partnerships.

In its official closing statement, the PATA Nepal Chapter said:
“HTM 2025 has once again reaffirmed Nepal’s role as a resilient, innovative, and collaborative tourism hub at the heart of the Himalayas. The theme of Mountains, Milestones, and Momentum will continue to guide the country’s journey toward a thriving and sustainable tourism future.”
