Lalitpur, 16 August 2026 – A public park built on the initiative of Embark College, constructed in Pulchowk, Lalitpur in front of the college premises, was formally inaugurated today by the Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Mr. Chiribabu Maharjan.
The Park has been developed to beautify and bring calmness with greenery and water fountain in a very important location of the city. With open and green areas in the Valley shrinking under growing urbanization, such spaces are expected to serve an important role in the health and environmental sustainability of the community.
Flowers of native species have been planted in the park, and it has been built to remain manageable over the long term. The college regards the project as part of its continuing responsibility towards the community and the environment, alongside its academic role.
Mr. Asish Thakur, Co-Founder & Executive Director Embark College, said the college had taken on the construction and management of the park in keeping with its commitment to sustainability, a greener future and the strengthening of local infrastructure. “This will not be our only such effort,” he said. “In the days ahead, we will continue working closely with the metropolitan city on many more important projects.”
Speaking at the programme, the Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Mr. Chiribabu Maharjan, thanked Embark College for the initiative. He said Lalitpur Metropolitan City remains open to collaboration on further opportunities.
Representatives of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, the college’s founders, faculty members, students, parents and representatives of the local community were present at the inauguration.
