Kathmandu, April 7-11, 2026 — The Kathmandu International Folklore Festival 2026, organized by Miniland English Secondary School in collaboration with Kageshwori Manohara Municipality, concluded successfully after a vibrant celebration of global culture from April 7 to 11.

The festival brought together artists and cultural delegates from countries including India, Bangladesh, Thailand, South Korea, Egypt, Turkey, and Nepal, who showcased their traditional dances, music, and cultural expressions.

The event featured two major shows: the opening ceremony on April 8 and the closing ceremony on April 9, both highlighting colorful performances and international cultural exchange. A key highlight was the cultural rally on April 9, which began from Miniland School and proceeded to the Kageshwori Manohara Municipality. The rally, joined by international artists, students, scouts, and local groups, was warmly received by local residents, along with municipal officials and staff.

Speaking at the event, Festival Director Dr. Jayaram Wagley emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating that cultural festivals play a vital role in enhancing understanding and strengthening relationships among countries. He also requested the municipality to continue organizing similar events, expressing his readiness to collaborate and support future festivals.

Mayor Upendra Karki thanked the international artists for showcasing their talents on a Nepali stage and extended a warm invitation to all participants to visit Nepal again in the future.

Likewise, Principal Maniram Wagley shared that the school made every effort to provide the best possible hospitality to the international guests throughout their stay, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience.

The festival not only celebrated cultural diversity but also strengthened international friendship and cooperation. It concluded with appreciation for all participants and a shared hope to make future editions even more impactful and grand.
