Roots in Nuwakot

In the heart of Nepal lies Nuwakot, a place steeped in history, culture, and spirituality. It’s a land where the echoes of ancient kingdoms resonate through the walls of Nuwakot Palace and where the rugged terrain leads pilgrims to the revered Hindu holy site of Gosaikunda. Amidst this rich tapestry of heritage, one individual embarked on a journey that took him far from his roots yet never let him forget where he came from. This is the story of Bead Prasad Adhikari.

Born on August 22, 1983, in Nuwakot, Bead Prasad Adhikari was raised in the embrace of tradition and the simplicity of rural life. His parents, Hari Prasad Adhikari and Radha Adhikari, instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. Nuwakot, with its historical significance and natural beauty, provided the backdrop for his formative years until the age of five.

Educational Pursuits in Kathmandu

However, recognizing the importance of education for his future, Bead’s family made the decision to move him to Kathmandu for better educational opportunities. It was a leap of faith, leaving behind the familiarity of home for the promise of a brighter future. In Kathmandu, Bead pursued his studies diligently, eventually enrolling in the Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) program at NCC College.

The Dubai Opportunity

But fate had other plans for him. Just as he was delving into the world of academia, an unexpected opportunity knocked on his door. A chance to work in Dubai’s flourishing hospitality industry beckoned, promising not only financial stability but also a chance to broaden his horizons and gain invaluable experience.

Dubai: A New Beginning

Despite the initial shock and uncertainty, Bead Prasad Adhikari seized the opportunity with both hands. Leaving his studies behind, he embarked on a journey that would take him thousands of miles away from his homeland. Dubai, with its towering skyscrapers and bustling streets, presented a stark contrast to the serene landscapes of Nuwakot.

Professional Growth in Dubai

In Dubai, Bead found himself immersed in a fast-paced environment, where every day brought new challenges and opportunities for growth. Working in the hotel industry, he quickly adapted to the demands of the job, showcasing his dedication and professionalism. His hard work did not go unnoticed, and soon he found himself climbing the ranks, earning the respect of his colleagues and superiors alike.

Remaining Grounded

Yet, amidst the glitz and glamour of Dubai’s hospitality scene, Bead Prasad Adhikari never forgot his roots. The lessons learned in Nuwakot – humility, resilience, and a deep reverence for his heritage – remained ingrained in his character. Despite his success abroad, he remained grounded, always mindful of the values that shaped him into the person he had become.

From the quaint villages of Nuwakot to the bustling streets of Dubai, his journey serves as an inspiration to all who dare to dream and strive for a better tomorrow.

Nurtured by Nepali Kitchens

Nuwakot, a quaint town nestled in the hills of Nepal, may seem an unlikely starting point for a culinary journey that spans continents and skies. Yet, for Bead Prasad Adhikari, it was the foundation upon which his passion for cooking was built.

Early Passion for Cooking

At the tender age of 12, Bead’s life took a new turn as he relocated to Kathmandu for better educational prospects. Adjusting to life in the bustling capital city wasn’t easy, but it was during this time that Bead discovered his love for cooking. With his parents miles away, he found solace in the kitchen, experimenting with recipes and honing his culinary skills.

Professional Training

After completing his School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exam, Bead wasted no time in pursuing his passion for cooking. He enrolled in culinary training at Expansion Human Resource Management, Rabi Bhawan, where he delved deeper into the art of cooking. Equipped with newfound knowledge and skills, Bead embarked on his professional journey in 2000, stepping into the bustling kitchens of Nepal’s restaurants, hotels, and casinos.

Exploring Beyond Borders

For seven years, Bead honed his craft in his homeland, soaking in the rich flavors and techniques of Nepali cuisine. Yet, he yearned for more – a desire to push his boundaries and explore new horizons. In 2008, Bead made the bold decision to move to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a move that would shape the trajectory of his culinary career.

Success in Dubai

The UAE proved to be a melting pot of cultures and cuisines, offering Bead the perfect platform to showcase his talent. Over the next thirteen years, he worked tirelessly, leaving his mark in prestigious establishments such as the Dubai International Airport Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, and Etihad Airways. It was during this time that Bead’s culinary prowess reached new heights, earning him accolades and recognition within the industry.

A Culinary Adventure in the Skies

In November 2014, Bead embarked on a new adventure as he joined Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, as an In-flight Chef. This role allowed him to marry his love for cooking with his passion for travel, as he served his signature dishes to passengers at 30,000 feet. From VVIPs to celebrities, Bead had the privilege of tantalizing taste buds and creating memorable dining experiences in the skies.

Leadership and Reflection

In the bustling kitchens of Nepal’s restaurants, Bead Prasad Adhikari’s journey began – a journey fueled by passion, dedication, and an insatiable hunger for learning.

The Path to Mastery

“I was so keen on learning that I did whatever possible,” Bead reflects on his early days in the kitchen. Determined to master his craft, he immersed himself in his work, clocking in 12 to 15-hour shifts every day, without a single day off. It was this relentless pursuit of excellence that taught him the values of hard work, perseverance, and self-motivation – qualities that would become the cornerstone of his success.

Lessons from Experience

Throughout his career, Bead had the privilege of working alongside renowned chefs from around the world. While their expertise and guidance were invaluable, Bead emphasizes that success in the hospitality industry ultimately boils down to one’s own hard work and passion. “At the end of the day, it all depends on one’s hard work and passion to make it in the hospitality industry,” he remarks, underscoring the importance of dedication and determination.

Global Impact

As an In-flight Chef, Bead’s culinary journey took him to new heights – quite literally. Traveling to numerous countries, he had the opportunity to serve a diverse array of guests, including VIPs and celebrities. It was a role that allowed him to showcase his skills on a global stage.
